Syzygy is described as a conjunction or opposition between two objects. In this short experimental film of the same name, I attempted to create a surrealistic and dystopic filmic realm which coincides and incorporates images that are reminiscent with the reality one may experience, and how the real and dream states are actually a part of one sole continuum. Inspired by surrealistic and avant-garde filmmakers Joseph Cornell and Luis Buñuel, I tried to craft an anxiety laden short, making one question what will occur next by re-purposing film prints of events that have already occurred but edited in a completely different light with the aid of a chaotic sound design.
